International Association of Geodesy
Subcommission 1.3 on Regional Reference Frames

Call for Participation

Jun 17, 2009

The goal of the Working Group (WG) is to provide regional dense velocity information in a common reference frame and this based on GNSS observations. For that purpose the following region coordinators have been appointed:

  • Africa: R. Fernandes (rmanuel@di.ubi.pt), L. Combrinck (ludwig@hartrao.ac.za)
  • Antarctica: R. Dietrich (Reinhard.Dietrich@tu-dresden.de)
  • Asia & Pacific : J. Dawson (John.Dawson@ga.gov.au)
  • Europe: A. Kenyeres (kenyeres@gnssnet.hu)
  • North America: M. Craymer (craymer@nrcan.gc.ca)
  • Latin America & Caribbean: L. Sánchez (sanchez@dgfi.badw.de)
The task of the region coordinators is to gather as much as possible velocity solutions (submission guidelines) for their region and to combine these solutions with GNSS solutions from the regional sub-commissions within IAG sub-commission 1 "Regional Reference Frames" (AFREF, NAREF, SIRGAS, EUREF, ...) to produce a regional SINEX solutions to obtain a dense regional velocity field. Analysts wishing to contribute to the regional combined solutions are invited to contact the coordinator of the concerned region.

Two combination coordinators, T. Herring (tah@mit.edu) and D. A. Lavallée (d.a.lavallee@tudelft.nl), will perform combinations on the regional SINEX submissions provided by the region coordinators. In addition to the regional SINEX submissions, cumulative SINEX solutions from global networks as TIGA will be included. Analysts wishing to contribute with a global SINEX solution (including discontinuity tables) are invited to contact the combination coordinators.
