PRODUCTS & SERVICES > WEEKLY EPN SOLUTIONS

Description

The core product of the EUREF Permanent Network is the weekly estimates of the coordinates of the EPN tracking stations and their covariance information. These coordinates are outcome from the so-called "combined EPN solution" which is based on the subnetwork solutions submitted by the EPN Analysis Centres (LAC).

The time evolution of the coordinates in the weekly combined EPN solutions is shown in the following coordinate time series :

Overview

The weekly combined EPN solution is created after removing the constraints from the subnetwork solutions from the individual Analysis Centres. The weekly EPN solutions are given in the successive reference frames of the International Terrestrial Reference System through a set of "reference stations" (called fiducial stations).

The EPN LACs use the IGS orbits for the computation of their subnetwork solutions. To guarantee the consistency between the reference frame used for the orbits and the constraints on the coordinates, the switch between successive ITRFxx realizations is done simultaneously with the update of the reference frame used for the computation of the IGS orbits.

Availability

The combined EPN solution is available with a delay of about 4 weeks. It contains the following files:

The files can be retrieved through anonymous ftp from: ftp://igs.bkg.bund.de/EUREF/products/ and ftp://epncb.oma.be/pub/product/combin/ in sub-directories named following the current GPS week.

Combination of the subnetwork solutions

The strategy used to combine the individual subnetwork solutions into the combined EPN solution is available in the weekly Summary Files (example), which are distributed through EUREF Mail or in the combination reports that are sent out to the LAC's.

Submission to the IERS

In order to include the EPN stations in the successive realisations of the International Terrestrial References Frame (ITRS), EUREF has responded to the related IERS Calls for Participation. Up to now the following multi-year solutions have been submitted to the IERS:
